As Hurricane Milton advances toward Central Florida, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is suspending SunRail operations starting on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The suspension is expected to last through at least Thursday, October 10, pending an assessment of the storm’s effects.

Once the storm has passed and conditions permit, FDOT will conduct a thorough inspection to evaluate any storm-related damage. This assessment will support the safe resumption of services, which includes reinstalling gates, clearing any debris from the tracks, and performing comprehensive safety checks before reopening for SunRail, freight, and Amtrak operations.
